Success stories and experiences on how the Paleo Diet has helped with Arthritis.
For a period of about 2 years I have had minor to moderate pain in my knees if I try to stand up from squatting down. This was quite bothersome to me because I enjoy gardening a lot. It was getting progressively worse so that even when I am just out walking my dog, just walking up the hills would also sometimes trigger it.
I have been on the Paleo diet for about 6 months. During this time, I also started taking glucosamine, Co-Q10, and doing more strength training exercises. I'm glad to say that my knee pains have almost completely gone away! I can now happily garden all day without having the pain bother me.
I'm rating this one a 4 because I can't tell if the Paleo diet is what ultimately cured the pain, or it was a combination of other things. I feel pretty confident that it did help, though.
Have been eating/living the Primal Blueprint for exacty one week, loving it, cravings are gone. Major improvement in the hands/thumbs area, pain almost gone and am able to open a jar lid, do common chores as never before. I feel the other joints are affected in a positive way. The weight is being released steadily (have 15 more pounds to go). I am researching every aspect of this lifestyle. My enthusiasm is beyond measure.
I had chronic shoulder pain that I suspect was arthritis when I started the Paleo diet in March of last year (2012). I currently have no shoulder pain and in addition my seasonal allergies have disappeared as well. I rarely slip up and add grain (Christmas and Thanksgiving pie crust or cookies)but when I do my shoulder pain comes back almost immediately.
