Success stories and experiences on how the Paleo Diet has helped with Heart Failure.
Hello, I had a heart attack in 2010 and one stent was put in. In 2011 had two more stents put in. I continued to have angina after mild exercise, upon awakening, during stress etc. I was put o a drug that opens my vessels and 30 mg of Crestor and 10 mg of Ezetrol. In June of 2012 I found I have Type 2 diabetes. The diabetes diet reminded me of the low carb diet I was on ten years ago and then I read WheatBelly and that led to to the Paleo diet and Robb Wolf's podcasts. I bought the books and started the diet and kept reading ( Gary Taubes, Loren Cordain). I have been on the Paleo for 2 weeks and I have not had angina. I have more energy,I feel great and I can increase my pace when walking (1 mile a day). I have no more stiffness in my joints and I have lost five pounds. I can hardly wait for my next blood work and hope there will be a big improvement so I can get off Crestor and some of my other drugs. I listen to Robb Wolf everyday as I work through the podcasts. I hope he will continue and the medical community will support this way of eating.
